The CInTech aims at creating and empowering the 1st Technological Hub for Innovation, Translation, and Industrialization dedicated to complex injectable medications: innovative technological platforms capable of incorporating different therapeutic agents for oncology (small molecules, peptides, nucleic acids). It will be a unique Hub comprising 3 Centers: an I&I laboratory for knowledge and technology translation; development, process engineering, and scale-up aiming at analytical development and prototyping; GMP manufacturing, capable of responding to the production of injectables, developed by the consortium or by third parties. It will be a structuring and mobilizing project, with a high impact on the economy and scientific innovation in Portugal, promoting synergistic cooperation between SMEs, non-SMEs, and R&D institutions, and the creation of a highly differentiated portfolio that, in addition to the benefits for the patient, constitutes a contribution to the exportation of high-technology goods and services.

Main objectives:

The CInTech Consortium is a strategic and synergistic alliance that brings together Portuguese industries in pharmaceuticals (Bluepharma - Pharmaceutical Industry, S.A.), intralogistics (JPM - Automation and Industrial Equipment, S.A.), engineering (JointSteel - Process Technologies, S.A.), and biotechnology (Biotrend - Innovation and Biotechnology Engineering, S.A.), along with some of the most dynamic and innovative centers (University of Coimbra and International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory) aiming to deliver a total of seven products, processes, and/or services (PPS):

• PPS1 (product) - New polymeric excipient with potential for use in complex injectable formulations with a patent application submitted;

• PPS2 (process, service) - Unit for granting, production, and analytical control of nucleic acids;

• PPS3 (product) - New lipid-based technological platform for therapeutic agent delivery;

• PPS4 (product) - New polymer-based technological platform for therapeutic agent delivery;

• PPS5 (product) - New set of customized process equipment for the pharmaceutical industry;

• PPS6 (product) - New digital platform for management and monitoring of process equipment;

• PPS7 (process, service) - Construction and empowerment of Centers dedicated to the development and GMP manufacturing of complex injectables.
